Theology Topics on PowerPoint Slides

From these Bible Verses:

The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, that I might make thee know the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the word of truth to them that send unto thee?

Thy words were found and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart; for I am called by thy name O Lord God of hosts.

…it is evident that God’s words must be available to us. Then since they are available:

…The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. …. Lord, to who shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

The entrance of they words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

My son if thou wilt receive my words,…Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

God promises that if we believe His words, He will teach us doctrine.

True life in this world depends upon believing God. “But these are written, that ye might believe… and that believing ye might have life….” But there is a devil who is a liar. He is not allowed to change the words of God that we are to believe, but he is allowed to promote lies.

An old parabolic story tells how a man looked for a tree in a forest under which there was a pot of gold. He found the tree, but he needed to go for help and equipment to dig up the gold. He put a ribbon on the tree, so he would know the right tree when he returned.  He made the leprechauns who lived in the forest promise not to touch his ribbon. To this they agreed. But when he returned, every tree in the forest had an identical ribbon on it.

In a similar way the Devil misdirects us from God’s words by promoting (like the multiplicity of ribbons) a multiplicity of religions, a multiplicity of denominations, a multiplicity of Bible versions, and a multiplicity of doctrines. Believing God would be an overwhelming challenge except that God had promised to help those serious about sorting through the lies for the truth. He gives directions on how to determine which words to believe, Then He opens the understanding of persons determined to believe those words whatever stumbling stones are in the way.

I have been impressed in Christian education and while studying the Scriptures how often we learn to explain away God words when we do not quite agree with them.  This starts usually by substituting what a passage of Scripture “means” for what it says. Writers of Scripture, prophets, apostles, and Jesus Christ Himself always argue from what Scripture says. They never say, “This means…” Believing God starts with accepting a Bible in which God has said what He meant and meant what He said.

On this website I follow God’s directions to determine which Bible to believe and then set forth points of theology we should believe when we accept the words of that Bible as unquestionably true. I quote Scriptures on PowerPoint slides with points of doctrine consistent with that Scripture. In each case the reader can see if the doctrine is consistent with the Scripture and decide whether to believe it or choose to believe something else. Theology topics of great confusion, controversy or ignorance are easily cleared up when we simply believe what the Scriptures say.  Each set of Theology Slides has an introductory Post.
